Spring 2001

NEWS, NEWS, NEWS

Well winter is finally over with and I for one am very glad. Personally I am not a cold weather type of individual so needless to say I am a much more pleasant boss to be around when the temperature gets warmer. If you don’t believe me just ask my people.

We have been very busy around here this spring and that is the main reason that the newsletter has not been updated. The other contributing factor is that my youngest son Kyle was a member of Grayson County’s regional championship basketball team and earned a trip to play in the sweet sixteen at Rupp Arena in Lexington. So for the record congratulations guys!

CHANGES

Changes have been happening here and with the good fortune of new business we have found it necessary to expand our fleet of equipment, adding a new Freightliner Tractor from Darren Burke at Kentucky Truck Sales and a ATI Dump Trailer from Kelly Driskell from American Trailer.

NEW DRIVER

I especially want to take this opportunity to welcome Jesse A. Barrow or "Ernest T" as some of you may know him from the CB radio. We feel fortunate to have him as part of our work family. Allen as he likes to be called resides in Morgantown, KY and as we get his family bio together we will get it posted for you.

SHADY HOLLOW GOLF

A job that we recently completed was hauling material for the expansion at Shady Hollow Golf Course in Cub Run, KY. This was done through Ramsey and Associates a construction firm from Elizabethtown, KY. This material was moved from our good friends at Liters Quarry, Daviess County Sand facility. We appreciate this opportunity and encourage everyone to go and check out the new nine at Shady Hollow.

FUEL PRICES

Our industry as well as everybody else continues to struggle with the high cost of fuel and gas. Here is hoping the oil guy in the White House doesn’t break us making his buddies rich. In the mean time you can expect to experience higher costs a the pump and in whatever you attempt to do.

Well that is all I have time for. I hope to talk to you again soon.

Thanks BJ
